The Remote Theater Project brings theater artists who are isolated either geographically or politically to New York City to develop new work, tour internationally and have their voices heard outside the confines of their region.
Remote Theater Project: Palestine
Beginning in Spring 2016, Remote Theater Project commissioned a new play by Amir Nizar Zuabi, one of the leading theater directors and playwrights in the Middle East. We reached out to Palestinian actors throughout the West Bank and Israel to create an acting ensemble for the project.
GREY ROCK had its global premiere at La MaMa Theater in New York City in January, 2019. Starring Khalifa Natour, as Yousef the former TV repairman building a rocket in the shed in his backyard to reach the moon, Grey Rock is soaring and now on tour.
